Mechanism of Action

Enhancing Cognitive Function: Centellaasiaticawas demonstrated to enhancecognitive function through different mechanisms of action that include

• Inhibition of acetylcholinesterase activity,
• Reduction of phospholipase A2 (PLA2) activity,
• Protection against ß-amyloid formation
• Protection from brain damage

Promote Wound Healing :Wound repair is complex healing process involving overlapping phases that include haemostasis, inflammation, proliferation and dermal remodelling which result in architectural and physiological restoration following damage.

During the proliferative phase, fibroblasts migrate into the wound and proliferate, then depositground substance and collagen. Asiaticosideis reported to be involved in the promotion of migration and proliferation of normalfibroblasts and stimulation of collagen biosynthesis [60]. Asiaticoside increases the synthesis of typeI and III collagen.

Manage CVI :Reported to improve microcirculation and capillary permeability in subjects with venous hypertension.
